Frequently Asked Questions

MaryJanice receives many emails from fans and she loves them all! Below are some of the questions she is asked most frequently. If you don't find the answer to your question listed, be sure you send her an email so she can answer it for you!

Are you going to write more Undead books?

MJD: Absolutely! I've got the series plotted out through book six, and hopefully I'll be able to write even more than that (it depends on my publisher and, of course, the readers!). Currently I'm contracted through book !

In what order should I read the Betsy and werewolf books since they overlap and characters from anthologies frequently show up in the Undead books?

MJD: To keep continuity you should read the books in the following order:

--Secrets 6: Love' Prisoner
--Secrets 8: Jared's Wolf
--Undead and Unwed
--Cravings: Dead Girls Don't Dance
--Undead and Unemployed
--Bite: Biting in Plain Sight
--Derik's Bane
--Undead and Unappreciated
--Undead and Unreturnable
--Dead and Loving It
--Undead and Unpopular
--Over the Moon: Driftwood
--Undead and Uneasy
-- Dead Over Heels

Will your e-books ever be available in paperback?

MJD: Yes indeed. Brava and Berkley are going to be reprinting most of them in the next year or two...check back here for more updates!

Where can I find the Bewitched, Bothered, and Bevampyred books?

MJD: I have had several emails that the first book is very difficult to find. The only place I have found it is through private booksellers on Amazon. There WILL NOT be a second book as originally intended.

Will Betsy ever have a baby?

MJD: I'll have to double-check the Book of the Dead but you know...never say never...

Where can I get your backlist?

MJD: Most of my books can be found in any bookstore (or ordered from same); see the Backlist section of this website for a complete list of what's out there. They are listed in series order (where applicable).

In what order should I read the Wyndham Werewolf stories?

MJD: The first story is "Love's Prisoner" in Secrets 6 by Red Sage Publications. The second story is "Jared's Wolf" in Secrets 8 by Red Sage Publications. The next installment is Derik's Bane. You will also find a parallel Wyndham story in Nicely Naughty. Dead and Loving It features 4 werewolf stories: 3 previously released as e-books and a brand new story.

Will you write more books about the Alaskan Royal Family?

MJD: The Alaskan Royal Family series is coming to an end in September, 2007 with the release of The Royal Mess. The Royal Treatment and The Royal Pain are already available

Are Betsy and Sinclair in any anthologies?

MJD: Yep; you can find the queen and king of vampires in CRAVINGS (Berkley), and BITE (also Berkley, January 2005). They aren't the stars of the show, but play an important role in both novellas.

What's with the Fiends? Will they ever be 'normal' vampires?

MJD: Yes...well, probably. As 'normal' as any human turned feral beast turned vampire can be. Let's put it this way: never let your Fiend off his leash unless there's lots of room to run (and no people around).

Will there be more werewolf stories after DERIK'S BANE?

MJD: Absolutely. I'm contracted to do at least two more and I'd like to do more than that.

I've been trying to get SANTA CLAWS for ages. Is it still available anywhere?

MJD: Yes; it is available in the anthology DEAD AND LOVING IT in its original form.

Do you ever do book signings?

MJD: I sure do! Most of them are here (in Minnesota, where I live) but I also do signings every year at the Romantic Times convention (the 2008 convention is in April, in Pittsburgh). And another tour is being planned for July, 2008!

Can I get an autographed book plate or my books signed?

MJD: Of course. Please mail a self-addressed stamped envelope to:
