A friend of Mary's decided to do a little work on her photo to more accurately portray her "inner self"!

Love the ears!
Mary in Boston!
"The attached photo may not look like much - especially since it's a
low-resolution shot! But this is not just any bookstore to Mary and
me. It's the Barnes and Noble in downtown Boston, where Mary would go
on her way to and from an interminable string of day jobs she hated,
while she waited for years for a break - any break - in her writing
career.
She would go up and down the aisles, simultaneously admiring and hating
all the books that were already there. What did these authors have that
she didn't have? What did they do that she hadn't done? And what the
f*** was up with the gajillion books on O.J. Simpson?
We moved away from the Boston area several years before she got her big
break, of course. When we visited the store to sign stock, I glanced up
at the "bestsellers" wall to the left and saw her hardcover there
immediately. I pointed it out to her and I thought she was going to
cry. (She will deny this, because she's a devious and vain liar.) We
took a snapshot because the moment deserved to live - Mary returning
victorious!"

A huge thanks to artist extraordinare Jesse Cutler of Melbourne, Australia for this TERRIFIC representation of Betsy. Love the detail - including the gold cross! www.dypsomaniart.com.au

Maryjanice and fans at RT!
Meet Rebekah, part of the Australian contingent that made the long trek to the RT Convention in 2005! They had in upwards of a dozen people in their group and made a special point of meeting MJD and inviting us to a VIP party (which was tons of fun and full of male cover models!). Happily, Rebekah and many more will again be visiting us at RT in 2006! The group will include some returning members as well as several newbies. We look forward to seeing/meeting them at RT this year! Thanks so much for their continued support!
